Our theory: you don't need a wardrobe of statement pieces. You need one — a coat with enough presence to carry everything else you own. Softlore started with a single oversized faux fur coat in butter yellow and a simple standard: the pile has to be long, dense and silky enough that people ask if it's real. It never is. It never will be.

We're a small UK-focused label. We'd rather do a few coats properly — cut oversized, collars you can hide in, fur that moves — than a hundred versions of fine.
